CLL Community Guidelines

The following are rules of engagement in our community.

Do’s

:handshake: Do be kind and courteous.

A space for learning is supportive, inclusive, and inviting. We're all in this together. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is a requirement.

:slack: Do familiarize yourself with our CLL Slack Best Practices.

They can be found here!

:slack: Speaking of Best Practices—Use Threads and Channels, please!

What's a thread? It's what you create when you 'reply' to someone's post, rather than creating a brand new one. It keeps conversations tidy and easy to follow.

What's a channel? It's like a chat-room. Each one has a purpose. Be sure to skim all our channels and find the right one for your post. Not sure which is right? Post to #chit-chat to get started. :)

 Do ask for help, and give it freely.

We hope you immediately see is what a helpful place this is. Every one of us is on a learning journey—yourself included—so we hope you find an opportunity to ask for help, and share your valuable experience with others. As a general rule of thumb, give more than you take.

Don’ts

Conducting any of the following could result in your removal from this group, without warning.

Don’t use this space for self-promotion.

Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed.

Don’t engage in bullying or hate speech.

Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, political affiliation, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

Avoid using profanity to make a point.

In the spirit of inclusion, let's all do our best to keep the conversations rated-PG.

The community’s value grows with each new lifelong learner who joins, and we’re thrilled to have you here to help build this with us. I hope you’re as excited to be part of this learning community as we are to have you.
